Arizona’s diverse and innovative education system prepares students for tomorrow’s workforce. The system includes magnet schools for the arts, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and other specialties, as well as high-quality public and private schools. Moreover, the state’s public and charter schools have near-universal open enrollment so parents may send their children to a school of their choice.
Arizona has more charter schools than any other state with one in five students in Arizona attending a charter school. BASIS Charter Schools, founded in Arizona over 25 years ago, has many locations across the state and due to its success has expanded to states across the nation. These schools are routinely listed on “best high schools” lists with BASIS Tucson North recently named the best high school and best charter high school in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and has 11 of the top 100 high schools in the nation. In Arizona, BASIS students boast an average 95 percent AP exam pass rate and 100 percent of graduates are accepted to a four-year college or university.
PHOENIX, AZ (July 22, 2026) — Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) marked the most successful year for economic development in Arizona’s history. During the 12‑month period ending June 30, 2026, the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) and local economic development partners worked with companies that committed to creating 26,225 projected new Arizona jobs and investing more than $109 billion into communities statewide — both single‑year records. The projected new jobs carry an average wage of $81,368, higher than the state median wage. This new fiscal year also marks the 15‑year anniversary of the Arizona Commerce Authority — the state’s leading economic development agency.

The announcement brings TSMC’s total investment in Arizona to $265 billion — representing 10 fabs, 2 advanced packaging facilities, and a R&D center, all supporting thousands of high‑tech jobs. Upon completion of its announced fabs, around 30% of TSMC's 2-nanometer and more advanced capacity will be located in Arizona, creating an independent leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing cluster. TSMC Arizona currently employs more than 3,500 people in the state.
